We have offices throughout the country but location doesn’t matter. We are able to be of service to you wherever you live. We offer communication via telephone, email, letter and other messaging methods, and most matters either do not require regular face to face meetings. Our view is that you would look to choose the best solicitor for you, rather than simply instructing the closest.

Do you offer fixed fees?

We offer fixed fees on several services, including:

Do you offer ‘no win, no fee’ arrangements?

Yes, but in England and Wales there was an adjustment to the traditional model of ‘no win no fee’ to all regulated solicitors and so the model solicitors used prior to 2013 is no longer in place. However, ‘no win no fee’ still exists but in a varied format. If you wish to discuss a litigation matter please speak with a member of the litigation team who will be able to advise you of the costs involved and funding options available, assess your prospects of success and pursue your instructions with you.

Do your solicitors take legal aid cases?

Due to restrictions in Legal Aid, we are unable to take on any further legal aid cases, however we have developed our Key Law services to meet the needs of those who may previously have benefitted from Legal Aid, you can find out more here

Can I change from my current solicitor to you?

Yes, you can change your solicitor at any time and we are able to pick up where your previous solicitor left off and take control of the matter for you. You would simply need to let us know who holds your files or documents, and we can arrange for an appropriate letter of authority to enable these to be released to us.
Please be assured that in most cases your solicitor is required to release files promptly and this should not cause any delays for you.

What should I bring to my initial meeting?

It is always helpful for clients to bring in two forms of ID for us to process and any relevant information about the issue you wish to discuss.

Will you visit me in my home or at my business?

We are able to visit clients at home or at work if necessary (in particular for those who are unable to attend our offices due to mobility restrictions). Please contact us to discuss these arrangements.

Can I bring a friend or family member with me?

We appreciate that some people prefer to bring along a trusted friend or family member, and we will accommodate this wherever possible. There may be some occasions where we would wish to speak with a client alone, for example before signing a Will, but on most matters this is not necessary.

At EHL several of our specialists are multi-lingual in the following languages:
• Punjabi
• Hindi
