Matthew Needham’s Treasure Chest

The Matthew Needham Trust

Justine Needham, Matthew’s mum and Paul Lawrence

What joy to be able button up and wear the navy moleskin trousers that have been hanging in the wardrobe for the past 18 months crying out to see daylight? Despite thoughts of sending them to the local charity shop I kept the trousers in the belief I might one day get back into them. How glad I am I kept the trousers which have been worn more than any other clothes in the wardrobe during the past week buttoned up and with a belt to boot.

Having spent many years threatening to do something about my weight and fitness helping raise funds for the Matthew Needham Treasure Chest was all the incentive I needed put words into action. Matthew Needham was a bright and lovely young 9 year old who sadly lost his life to a rare heart condition in 2004.

In his memory the Matthew Needham Treasure Chest was set up by his parents Justine and Phil and with the support of Edward Hands & Lewis I am delighted to offer my help in raising funds for the charity. The 6 month challenge is now into week 5 and I am a tantalising 2 pounds from hitting the first stone in lost weight. Now the real hard work begins I suspect? Websites selling gym equipment received numerous visits during the course of the past week with a rowing machine a likely addition to the conservatory?

I aim to loose 3 stones in 6 months with sponsorship proceeds going to the Matthew Needham Trust. Your help and support would be greatly appreciated.
