Congratulations to our neighbouring town of Earl Shilton on being shortlisted for an award in the Great British High Street initiative.

Earl Shilton has rejuvenated its High Street since the introduction of the long awaited bypass, and it is great to see these efforts being recognised.

The High Street is a focal point of so many communities, and the importance of being able to access local businesses should not be underestimated.  Our firm is a solicitors practice in Stoney Stanton, and we frequently find ourselves cheerfully waving at clients who are on their way to the nearby post office, shops, church or school.  In the days of so much business taking place online (and those of you reading this article now will be online) it is a great pleasure to see the hard work and efforts of local people being recognised.

Well done to all involved; there is a huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes with running any business, as we know from our own position as well as from working with our business clients.  In particular, credit has been given for the town’s markets and community initiatives.  But what else lies ahead for the area?

It has been in the pipeline for a while, but there are plans to build 2,500 new in the neighbouring Barwell under the Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) initiative.  These will provide a great opportunity for those looking to step onto the property ladder (feel free to contact us should you need a local conveyancer or solicitor!).  And if Earl Shilton is successful in the High Street awards, it will receive valuable business mentoring to help strengthen the High Street even further.

Let’s hope that the town continues to thrive, and long live the Great British High Street, whether that be Earl Shilton or our own smaller village of Stoney Stanton.  Congratulations to all involved.
