The Office for National Statistics (ONS) have confirmed the overall house prices have increased by 2.2% compared with January last year. This shows that the property market is moving, which is great news for developers. Within our Leicester Department we have seen a huge increase in the number of house purchases and this can only be a sign of better things to come and of course a busy summer for our team!

ONS have put the growth down to an increase in movement across London and the South East of England however the increase is still short of that experienced during the last housing boom.

Whilst this is a sign of the market moving it does mean first time buyers have to pay more for their first home than they would have done last year indicating it has never been a better time to jump onto the property ladder.
