Head of the Commercial Division and the firm's Senior Partner, Jason specialises in Company and Commercial work with a loyal client base acting for mainly owner-managed businesses.
Jason specialises in advising businesses on commercial contracts, acting on management buy-outs of businesses, company share sales and restructuring. In addition he also advises on intellectual property and franchising.
In 2016, Jason was included in the Leicester Mercury's 'Most Influential' list with the likes of Imogen Cox (president of the Leicester Law Society), Sir Alec Jeffreys (rfounder of DNA Fingerprinting) and John Barton (chairman of Next). Being influential means working in partnership with others and understanding the importance of considering the 'greater good', whether that is for Leicester, Leicestershire, specific industry sectors or communities.
Originally from Kent, Jason settled in Leicestershire after returning to the area in 1999. Before embarking on a career in the law, Jason worked for a large multinational bank as a Marketing Executive. Soon after qualifying as a Solicitor Jason set up his own niche Commercial practice with a colleague. Jason sold out of that practice in 2006, and following an investment in another local practice, Jason joined EHL in August 2007 as the Managing Partner. Jason's ambition is to continue to lead the firm's growth and establish it as the No.1 law firm in the county of Leicestershire.
Recent successful projects include:-
"It may go without saying that you would expect a solicitor to offer professional advice, but Jason has the unusual skill of being able to combine this with an infectious sense of enthusiasm for business and a real understanding of what it is like to run your own business. Although he is a very busy man he always seems to be able to find the time to respond to queries personally and we see having access to a senior legal advisor such as Jason as being invaluable for the continued success of our business." - Simon Allbright, Allbright Bishop Rowley
Testimonial: "Jason Hathaway has been my solicitor for some time and I could not recommend his services highly enough." - Stephen J. Conlon
