January 31, 2019

With cutbacks to legal aid in the last few years it can be difficult for families to access support during divorce and separation.

Edward Hands & Lewis are delighted to have been able to support a national, not-for-profit social enterprise who provide support to families experiencing the difficulties of separation and divorce.

Michelle Saxton from our Loughborough branch has been involved and contributed to a new book, 101 Questions Answered About Separating with Children. The book has been written as a practical guide to help separating parents keep their children’s best interests first. Michelle is a long-term supporter of the social enterprise OnlyMums & Only Dads. Michelle was chosen as one of the expert contributors from the East Midlands.

Michelle addressed a common concern of separating parents, do I need legal advice? The guide gives simple, practical advice and legal position for parents of children.

The book has been written by a number of expert family solicitor, barristers, mediators and other professionals. It covers the current legal landscape, how to cope with the psychological impact of separation, what it means to the children involved and where parents can turn for help and support.

The book is available directly from www.onlymums.org and www.onlydads.org or from high street and online book sellers.
